Scotland's First AP Forum for Local Authorities Launches

FISCAL FISCAL Technologies facilitates Scottish AP Forum to drive efficiencies and make public sector savings by creating best-in-class AP

Reading, UK – 23 June 2011:  FISCAL Technologies, provider of world-class accounts payable audit software AP Forensics®, received a positive response from delegates at the first ever Scottish AP Forum, held at the Convention of Scottish Local Authorities (COSLA), Edinburgh on 8 June 2011. The event proved to be highly successful attracting 32 attendees from all but four Local Authorities in Scotland and has instigated the need for a regular AP Forum.

The aim was to create a forum to discuss issues affecting Public Sector Accounts Payable teams in Scotland, share information and knowledge, review best working practices and improvements.

Garry Stevens, Financial Services Manager at Aberdeen City Council who was keen to kick off the Scottish AP Forum was delighted with the enthusiastic response from attendees saying “A big thanks to FISCAL for supporting our Scottish AP Forum.  In particular to Bruce Hibbert, Regional Development Manager at FISCAL, for all his help in assisting with organising the event.”   He commented further by saying “It was unanimous in the need for such a forum for Local Authorities in Scotland. “

FISCAL work closely with customers, such as Aberdeen City Council and realise how important it is for the Public Sector to have the opportunity to discuss and share ideas. Therefore, were delighted to play a key role in supporting the AP Forum.  Bruce Hibbert’s presentation on ‘How To Improve Processes to Avoid Duplicate Payments’ was well received and showcased FISCAL’s AP Forensics® software.

As a result of this successful first meeting, quarterly AP Forums are now being planned.  FISCAL will continue their support at the next proposed AP Forum on  8 September 2011, at the COSLA offices in Edinburgh.

David Griffiths, Director of Customer Development at FISCAL said, “This successful event was an excellent opportunity to share FISCAL’s passion for creating best-in-class AP departments with the Scottish Local Authorities.  AP professionals play a key role within organisations and were interested to learn how our software solutions can improve processes, protect spend and prevent overpayments, errors and fraud, saving both time and money during this time of stringent cost saving.”
